Adoption fees for cats and kitten reduced to $25 thanks to a generous donation from the Dorothy K. Thomas Trust.

Adoption Rates
 

 

Dogs
 
8 weeks to 4 months
$95.00 which includes the following: Rabies, (3) Parvo/Distemper and Bordetella vaccines, microchip and Spay/Neuter.
 
If under 8 weeks
A $75.00 deposit is required until pet is returned for spay/neuter.
 
4 months to 6 years
 $75.00 for most dogs includes the following:
Spay/Neuter, Parvo/Distemper, Bordetella and Rabies vaccines, and a microchip.
 
6 yrs to 8 yrs old
$50.00 which includes the above treatments.
 
Cats
 
8 weeks and older
$25.00 which includes the following: RCP, Distemper.
 
If under 8 weeks
 
A $75.00 deposit is required until proof is provided to show cat was spayed/neutered.
 
 
                

 

 
 
 
 
To adopt an animal from the VVAPL:
 
Ø      I need to be 18+ years of age.
Ø       You need to agree to provide proper and sufficient food, water, shelter, medical attention, vaccinations, city license and humane treatment to the animal at all time.
Ø      You need to accept the animal as is and assume all risk of ownership of the animal. You will need to  further understand that the V.V.A.P.L has no background information on animals in our shelter. In the event you find the animal has behavior problems or is not adjusting to your family environment you may return this animal to the shelter within 30 days and an “exchange “receipt will be issued for another animal no cash will be refunded.
Ø       You need to  understand that if the animal is ill or becomes ill within 14 days of adoption you may return the animal to the shelter for exchange only no refund. You need  understand that if you choose not to return the animal and take it to a veterinarian for treatment instead, the V.V.A.P.L. is not responsible for any costs incurred, and is under no obligation to reimburse you for any medical treatment, expenses or fees incurred in connection with this animal (Adopters are encouraged to contact the Shelter with questions regarding the health or behavior of adopted pets).
Ø      You agree not to allow this animal to run at large or become a public nuisance, and to keep a means of identification on this animal at all times. If you are unable to properly care for this animal you agree to return it to the VVAPL.
Ø      In the event the animal becomes lost, you agree to make every reasonable attempt to locate and claim the animal.
