Let’s celebrate felines, particularly gorgeous black felines.  Some may say they’re bad luck.  Some may say they’re hard to adopt out.  Some may even say they’re evil.  But we say down with the naysayers.  Let’s celebrate our beautiful black kitties by learning a few fun factoids.

  • The Ancient Egyptians revered all cats as sacred, helpful and lucky.
  • A black cat is considered lucky in Asia and the U.K., with the exception of Yorkshire, England.
  • Scottish Lore says a strange black cat on a porch brings the owner prosperity.
  • Some believe dreaming of a black cat is lucky.
  • Black cat Tommaso set a world record in 2011 for the richest cat by inheriting $13 million, according to World Record Academy.
  • Bombay is the only breed that is always black.
  • Black cat fur won’t show on your little black dress.
  • Black cats are stylish and go with everything.
  • Best of all…..carrying a black cat around will make you look slimmer.

So the next time you’re looking to add a feline to your family, throw caution to the wind and bring an exquisite black cat into your home.  You just might be bringing a bit of luck with it.
