Kiwanis Club of Apple Valley & Apple Valley Feed Bin Donate Food

In 1990 when Diane Irwin was elected President of the Kiwanis Club of Apple Valley, she had certain things she wanted to accomplish.  One project, in particular, was donating food to Victor Valley Animal Protective League (VVAPL).  Her father’s construction company built VVAPL, so she had a special fondness to the historic shelter. 

Initially Irwin started by passing a coffee can around at the club meetings for members to deposit donations.  In the early years, enough money was collected to purchase a few bags of food.  The donations grew substantially when Irwin found feed stores to partner with the Kiwanis Club.  Joe McKaskel, owner of a feed store in Hesperia, donated food from approximately 1995 to 2005, and Apple Valley Feed Bin came aboard around 2006.

This year the Kiwanis Club of Apple Valley and Apple Valley Feed Bin donated an amazing 1,000 pounds of dry dog and cat food.  We cannot thank the Kiwanis Club of Apple Valley and Apple Valley Feed Bin enough for their dedication to our animals.  We give you “Two Paws Up!”

VVAPL Holds Microchip Clinic in Adelanto

VVAPL Humane Society and Adelanto Animal Control are holding a microchip clinic on Saturday, March 17 from 9 a.m. to noon at Adelanto City Hall, 11600 Air Expressway.  The first 50 pets of Adelanto residents will receive microchips FREE of charge (proof of residency required).  Microchips are $10 for pets of non-Adelanto residents and pets after the 50 FREE microchips are given out.  This clinic is being held during the City of Adelanto's Dog License and Vaccination Clinic for pets of Adelanto Residents.  For more information on the microchip clinic please call (760) 247-2102.

Cruise Nights are back at Burgerlicious in Apple Valley on Friday, April 13 from 5pm to 8pm. Thanks to the Route 103.1 FM, the BCC (Burgerlicious Critter Crue) and Rod French, the monthly car show will be filling the parking lots of Burgerlicious, 21044 Bear Valley Road and adjacent Town & County Tire with pre-1976 and specialty vehicles. Dog adoptions, music by the Route 103.1 FM, prizes and trophies are part of the fun. No dog adoption coupons or promo codes accepted at this event. Cruise Nights will be held the second Friday of every month through October 12. Join us for this family fun event. All proceeds benefit VVAPL Humane Society.

A Delicious Way To Raise Money

Enjoy delicious food in a fun atmosphere along with your friends and family while earning funds in support of VVAPL Humane Society. With each flyer presented during this fundraising event, BJ's will donate 20% of food and soft beverage sales to our shelter. Flyers must be printed and presented to server. Fundraiser is on April 17 from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm.
