Kiwanis Club of Apple Valley & Apple Valley Feed Bin Donate Food

In 1990 when Diane Irwin was elected President of the Kiwanis Club of Apple Valley, she had certain things she wanted to accomplish.  One project, in particular, was donating food to Victor Valley Animal Protective League (VVAPL).  Her father’s construction company built VVAPL, so she had a special fondness to the historic shelter.

Initially Irwin started by passing a coffee can around at the club meetings for members to deposit donations.  In the early years, enough money was collected to purchase a few bags of food.  The donations grew substantially when Irwin found feed stores to partner with the Kiwanis Club.  Joe McKaskel, owner of a feed store in Hesperia, donated food from approximately 1995 to 2005, and Apple Valley Feed Bin came aboard around 2006.

This year the Kiwanis Club of Apple Valley and Apple Valley Feed Bin donated an amazing 1,000 pounds of dry dog and cat food.  We cannot thank the Kiwanis Club of Apple Valley and Apple Valley Feed Bin enough for their dedication to our animals.  We give you “Two Paws Up!”
